Research Network on Poverty, Tax and Transfer Policy. Empirical evidence is critical to our understanding of poverty and inequality in the United States. To facilitate dissemination of applied, policy-relevant research on the effects and effectiveness of tax and transfer policies, UKCPR is collaborating with the Institute for Research on Poverty to serve as a co-lead on the Research Network on Poverty, Tax, and Transfer Policy. Members of the network include leading scholars and thought leaders on the social safety net. The group provides intellectual leadership and training foci on the intersection of poverty and inequality with the tax and transfer system, and is proactively leading a sustained discussion to foster innovative thinking and new research directions.
